Uganda’s President Museveni Urges NRM Delegates to Combat Poverty and Corruption

President Yoweri Museveni has urged National Resistance Movement (NRM) delegates to prioritize the fight against poverty and corruption in order to build a robust economy. Speaking at the NRM delegates conference, Museveni emphasized the importance of addressing these two major challenges facing the country. The President also emphasized the need to promote Uganda’s cultural heritage and values, particularly in the areas of traditional customs, language, and history. He noted that the NRM government has introduced various measures to promote cultural development, including the establishment of cultural institutions and the promotion of cultural festivals. Museveni also encouraged the delegates to support the government’s efforts to promote environmental conservation and protection, particularly in the areas of forestry, wildlife, and water resources. He emphasized the need to address the issue of climate change, which he said is a major challenge facing the country and the world at large. The President also stressed the importance of promoting regional and international cooperation, particularly in the areas of trade, security, and diplomacy.
