The Jammu and Kashmir Students Association (JKSAA) has strongly condemned the statement made by the West Bengal BJP chief, who called for a boycott of tourism in Kashmir. The association has termed the statement as ‘irresponsible’ and ‘misguided’, stating that it will have severe consequences on the economy and livelihood of the people of Kashmir. The JKSAA has urged Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to take immediate action against the BJP chief and lodge an FIR against him for his ‘inflammatory’ statement. The association has also appealed to the people of West Bengal to ignore the call for boycott and visit Kashmir to experience its beauty and hospitality. The JKSAA has stated that Kashmir is a safe destination for tourists and that the people of Kashmir are welcoming and friendly. The association has also pointed out that the tourism industry is the backbone of Kashmir’s economy and that any boycott will have a devastating impact on the livelihood of the people. The JKSAA has accused the BJP chief of trying to politicize the issue and create tension between the people of Kashmir and West Bengal. The association has also stated that the statement is a clear example of the BJP’s ‘divisive’ politics and its attempt to create a wedge between different communities. The JKSAA has urged the people of Kashmir to remain calm and not to react to the provocative statement. The association has also appealed to the government to take strong action against those who try to disrupt the peace and harmony in the state. The JKSAA has stated that it will not tolerate any attempt to harm the interests of the people of Kashmir and will take all necessary steps to protect their rights. The association has also announced that it will organize a series of protests and demonstrations against the BJP chief’s statement and will also meet with the Chief Minister to urge her to take action. The JKSAA has stated that it will not rest until the BJP chief is held accountable for his statement and until the people of Kashmir are protected from such ‘malicious’ campaigns. The association has also urged the media to play a responsible role and not to sensationalize the issue. The JKSAA has stated that the people of Kashmir are peace-loving and want to live in harmony with the people of other states. The association has also pointed out that the tourism industry is an important part of Kashmir’s culture and economy and that any attempt to disrupt it will have far-reaching consequences.
