West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of targeting migrants from Bengal in Delhi, stating that they are being treated as infiltrators. This statement comes amidst the ongoing controversy over the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and the National Register of Citizens (NRC). Banerjee claimed that the BJP is trying to create a divide among the people of Bengal and the rest of India. She also stated that the people of Bengal are being subjected to harassment and intimidation in Delhi. The Chief Minister alleged that the BJP is using the issue of migration to further its own political agenda. She also criticized the BJP for its handling of the migrant crisis, stating that the party is more interested in playing politics than in finding solutions to the problems faced by the migrants. Banerjee also accused the BJP of trying to create a sense of fear and insecurity among the people of Bengal, by portraying them as infiltrators. She stated that the people of Bengal are being targeted and harassed in Delhi, and that this is a clear example of the BJP’s divisive politics. The Chief Minister also criticized the BJP for its failure to address the issues faced by the migrants, such as lack of employment opportunities and poor living conditions. She stated that the BJP is more interested in making political capital out of the migrant crisis, rather than finding solutions to the problems faced by the migrants. Banerjee also accused the BJP of trying to undermine the rights of the people of Bengal, by portraying them as outsiders in their own country. She stated that the people of Bengal have the right to live and work anywhere in India, and that they should not be subjected to harassment and intimidation. The Chief Minister also criticized the BJP for its handling of the CAA and NRC, stating that these laws are discriminatory and divisive. She stated that the BJP is trying to use these laws to further its own political agenda, rather than addressing the real issues faced by the people of India. Banerjee also accused the BJP of trying to create a sense of fear and insecurity among the people of India, by portraying certain groups as a threat to national security. She stated that this is a clear example of the BJP’s divisive politics, and that it is unacceptable in a democratic country like India.
